At first glance, the plastic bottle blank — or preform — might look like a chunky test tube, but it’s actually a small marvel of modern engineering. This unassuming object represents the first crucial stage in the manufacture of PET plastic bottles used across the beverage industry. Compact, lightweight, and durable, preforms are injection-moulded from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and then heated and blown into their final bottle shapes using specialised moulding machines.
Holding one in your hand is like holding the potential of an entire production line — a single preform can be transformed in seconds into a finished bottle, ready to be filled, labelled, and shipped out to retailers. It’s a process that relies on extreme precision, energy efficiency, and streamlined automation — the kind of cutting-edge capability that modern factories demand.
This brings us to a recent filming opportunity that allowed me to witness this technology in action.
Filming for SIPA Solutions: Capturing Cutting-Edge Plastic Bottle Manufacturing at Montgomery Waters
I was recently commissioned by SIPA Solutions, a world-leading provider of PET bottle manufacturing systems based in Vittorio Veneto, Italy, to document one of their latest equipment installations. The project brought me to Montgomery Waters Ltd, a major bottled water producer located here in the UK. The footage I captured was intended for SIPA’s internal promotions and an upcoming trade show, highlighting their moulding system in a real-world factory environment.

SIPA reached out after discovering my industrial video production services via Google. Their brief was straightforward yet technically demanding: film the installation and operational testing of their new mould system in a way that would allow their in-house editing team to piece together a dynamic and visually impactful presentation.
One-Day Shoot, Big Expectations
Filming took place over a single day, and as always in live manufacturing environments, there were no second chances. Lighting had to be balanced with natural conditions; angles had to be quickly scoped and framed around operational equipment; and health & safety protocols had to be followed without interfering with ongoing production.
The core focus was capturing the moulding machinery — SIPA’s proprietary system which transforms PET preforms into bottles via stretch blow moulding. This process happens rapidly and continuously, requiring the camera work to be both responsive and deliberate, freezing fleeting moments in high clarity for later storytelling.
Filming in Manufacturing Environments: My Approach
Every industrial shoot comes with its own rhythm. Whether I’m working in food-grade environments, automation lines, or packaging plants, the goal is always the same: show the intelligence behind the engineering. I’m not just capturing pretty shots of machines — I’m looking for motion, process, structure, and above all, meaning. That might mean tracking the path of a product through an assembly line or zooming in on mechanical parts interacting with precision.
In this case, SIPA’s installation wasn’t just a single piece of equipment but part of a much larger ecosystem. By filming their mould in action within Montgomery Waters’ production line, the footage became a testament to the seamless integration and productivity of their offering.
The Result and What It Says About Industreel
Even though SIPA would be handling the editing themselves, I made sure they received raw footage that was clean, well-lit, stabilised, and methodically labelled — ready to drop into their timeline. Projects like this underscore Industreel’s value proposition: a one-man operation able to deliver big agency professionalism, without the layers of red tape or inflated budgets.
That SIPA — a major global player — chose to work with me, speaks volumes. It reflects not only on the technical standards I bring to industrial filming, but also the trust I strive to earn with each new client, regardless of size or location.
