We’ve just completed a new video showcasing an advanced turnkey automation solution developed by RNA Automation in collaboration with Arburg. This system is designed for the efficient handling and processing of magnet overmoulding, featuring a seamless integration of robotics and specialised equipment.

At the heart of the setup is an Arburg IMM 1300T 1000-290 injection moulding machine, supported by a six-axis robot that ensures precision handling. The process also incorporates two Bunting magnetisation units—one for demagnetisation and another for re-magnetisation—ensuring the components meet exacting magnetic specifications. A bespoke end-of-arm tool (EOAT) optimises efficiency, while an integrated bagging machine and storage system complete the automation process.

Unlike conventional moulding systems, this setup does not include the actual injection moulding stage. Instead, its primary focus is on the controlled processing of the magnets, from demagnetisation to re-magnetisation, before being carefully packaged.
